My first bit of good news today is that I am now teaching my Stamp-Making For Textile Artists e-book!
I will be teaching a 3-hour workshop at Jerry's Artarama in Houston on July 7th! There are a few openings left, so to sign up for this class, please contact the Houston Art Workshop event organizer, Lisa Morales and she'll get you set up with a reservation and a supply list! This is going to be a great class and spaces are filling fast, so jump in and join the stamp-making fun!
My next bit of good news is that, after too many weeks of struggling to make my beloved point-and-shoot camera record more than ten minutes of video at a time, I've finally given up on that and purchased a small camcorder. This means that my plan to record art tutorials, which I announced several months ago, will be moving forward once again! This is very exciting for me, as I find that watching an artist work is far more educational to me than just reading step-by-step instructions. I hope you will feel the same.
My first video, a walking tour of my studio, should be up in the next few days (fingers crossed!) After that little test video, you can look forward to videos about painting, collaging, tool-making, gel plate printing, and more!
Exciting things are happening in the studio lately, so I hope you'll join me. In the meantime, happy creating!

I love using found objects for making my marks on dyed fabrics....I wish I could be there. You will have a great time. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
