CC Complete And Other Stuff

Well, the cooperative art project, Compositional Conversation, has been completed, at least as far as design goes. All the artists, including the originator of the project, Terry Jarrard-Dimond, have had their hands on the work and have left their own unique mark. The piece traveled back to Terry last week, she made her own final contributions, and she's blogged about it. Go take a look at her contribution and let us know what you think!

I spent the week deep in work with absolutely no finished results to show you. Some weeks are like that: art takes time. Hopefully, I will have photos to share next week!

In the meantime, we had a winter freeze and some snow- both incredibly rare events here in South Texas. My yard suffered an almost total loss of vegetation- some stuff survived, most didn't. The loss of my all my flowers, shrubs and beautiful greenery has been devastating to me. Naturally, I had to record it in photos.

I might post more photos to my photography blog, if I have the heart to, later.

More happy creating next week though, I promise!

I had to look twice to recognize the project, it looks so different from the last post. Sometimes it's so easy to forget that design is just as much about removing as adding elements. It looks great! For me, putting so much work into a piece and having others remove it, would be one of the hardest parts of such a project. That makes me think I really should try collaberating more...

The temperatures had a murderously freezing heyday here last week also. It is so very sad. I have been trying to produce an avocado for 29 years, always interrupted by a freeze. This time I had some hope, because the tree was a healthy 8 feet tall. All my citrus are naked, bereft of leaves. I will mourn your yard as I mourn mine.
