Progress

I'm making nice strides in the studio conversion. All of the work has been completed- new lighting is in, AC/heating are up and working perfectly, sink is plumbed, new door and screen door are up- and I've begun unpacking my many boxes of supplies.

For now, I'm using only a portion of the space that will be available to me once we get the whole garage unpacked and my new tables are set up, but it's more than enough room for me to begin preparations for my IQF Houston demo sessions.

Having finally laid my hands on my paint brushes and papers, though, I couldn't help but slow things down a little today and just paint for the sheer joy of it. I was in a truly abstract mood.

All three of these pieces, acrylics on paper, used the same color palette. Tomorrow it will be back to prepping!

Happy creating!

Wow! Looks good! You must have been colour starved as these are amazingly vibrant!

Beautiful studio and I love your abstracts.
By the way, thank you for mentioning using "open" acrylics with the gelli plate. While I have no "open" slow drying acrylics I did pick up some "retarder" the other day and will be taking that for a spin with my acrylics and gelli plate soon.
I trust all plumbing issues are well behind you... pun intended.
Enjoy your new space to the hilt!

Love your new studio! Tom added some new shelving to our studio this weekend and I can't believe how much difference it made. You must feel like you have the entire state of Texas for a studio ;-)

Some days a girl just has to slap color around on paper...I am so totally with you! These are great...did you use some wax to make those circles? It sure looks like wax marks.
