International Quilt Festival, Houston, 2013

Hi all!

I just found out that I've been assigned three different 2-hour demonstration slots for Open Studios at the International Quilt Festival in Houston this year! I'm so excited to once again be a part of this fantastic event. The festival is held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, TX. (follow the link for a map), and is the most widely attended convention in this, the fourth largest city of the country. Nearly 60,000 people attend the show and participate in the thousands of classes offered.

Open Studios gives festival attendees an opportunity to watch and interact with your favorite artists during free art, craft, and quilt demonstrations. The demonstrations go on back-to-back throughout the 3-day Festival at specially-designed booths located just off the vendor area in the food court. Festival tickets can be purchased the day of the show, or in advance at Quilts.com.

I will be demonstrating monoprinting with acrylic paints and the Gelli Arts - Gel Printing Plate on Nov. 1st from 4-6 PM...

... Stamp-Making For The Textile and Mixed-Media Artist on Nov. 2nd from 10am to noon...

...and Paper and Fabric Bead-Making on Nov. 3rd from noon until 2PM...

I hope you'll come and meet me and all the other amazing artists for these free 2-hour demonstrations!!

Until then, happy creating!
